This book presents comprehensive work performed in the areas of performance characterization, measurements, simulation and correlation between simulation and measurements for Global Positioning System (GPS) in Telematics applications. The measurements and simulation involve antenna design, receiver performance, vehicle platform, antenna placement, and automotive driving environments. The GPS is used as a case study in this work because it is a key element in any Telematics platform. In addition, the Telematics industry is lacking for common performance requirements and an established process to validate GPS system performance. Lastly, GPS is widely used as a location technology enabler in several industries across the globe. Therefore, the findings from this work should be beneficial to those industries and interested workers worldwide.
